As our campus community continues to grieve Monday’s tragic events, we are navigating many challenges ahead for the remainder of this week for our students, faculty and staff.
This fall join Digital and Lifelong Learning as we showcase the research, discoveries, and ideas of UNC faculty. With these informative yet casual talks, we hope to further nurture and expand the bond between Carolina and the local community.

This summer, Digital and Lifelong Learning launched a new series of events designed to share higher education industry research with campus leaders and other stakeholders.
Founded by Professor of Music and Director of Jazz Studies Dr. Stephen Anderson, the workshop, now in its 13th year, continues to find ways to include participants of all types. Students have the option to pursue three different paths in this workshop: as a performer in the community jazz workshop, as a performer in the summer jazz workshop, or as a student in the music journalism and jazz history non-performance track.
In May 2023, the UNC Board of Governors approved the master of applied data science (MADS), the first degree program offered by the UNC School of Data Science and Society.
UNC-Chapel Hill Correctional Education met with the North Carolina Prison Education Consortium (NCPEC) and the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) as part of a shared commitment to transforming lives through education within correctional facilities.
The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) has assembled a very helpful online resource that provides a starting point for instructors to explore the implications and applications of Generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT and their impacts on teaching at UNC. They will update this page as information and best practices rapidly develop.
