Student Perspectives: Accelerating Academic Success

Why choose UNC Summer School? We heard from three students on their perspectives:

THE PRE-COLLEGE HEADSTART:

Kirsten Laskoski, Mathematics major, NCSSM graduate:
Kirsten took advantage of Summer School before she began at UNC and even used it again to make sure she had all the credits she needed to graduate. “Prior to my freshman year, I used summer courses to get my ENGL 105 and research gen eds. This summer, I’m completing the supplemental gen eds for my bachelors.”

THE DOUBLE MAJOR:

Michael Cox, Physics Major:
Michael also plans to major in math, so he knew that “it’d be good to get ahead and free up my options for the school year.”

THE EARLY GRADUATE:

Norman Xie, Information Science Major:
Norman “wanted to have the option of graduating early, or at least having an easier last semester as a senior.”
